I want to print these off and display them in my room.

Holy crap these are awesome.

these are pretty cool and I’m definitely all for women being proud of what they do, but I read an article the other day about a girl who became a sex worker because she was down on money and watched Secret Diary of a Call Girl so thought it’d be a good idea. Apparently she was traumatised by the whole experience.

So now I don’t know where I stand on all this, perhaps if that girl hadn’t felt it was degrading herself in the first place it wouldn’t have made her feel the way she did? But then I imagine becoming detached from the intimacy of sex might not be good either? IDK.

All I’m really saying is whilst I think these articles are cool I worry they don’t come with the appropriate warning light? I know they’re to protect women from the gut reaction a lot of people have, but without that reaction might people go into this without thinking about their own mental health? again IDKKKKK

You’ve got a valid point. Sex work is constantly misrepresented and even glamourised in modern media…Or it is shown at the opposite end of the spectrum making it seem like a very grim, dark existence. This is probably presently true of a lot of sex workers’ experiences though I can’t help but feel that this is more due to the widespread view that sex workers are something other than human as well as the lack of an official regulating body that could reprimand dangerous clients or exploitative pimps.

Obviously, it’s not a job for everyone but the above posters seek to teach the reader that, whilst this is the case, it’s not right to judge sex workers who do pick this as the right choice for themselves.

Sex work is colloquially known as ‘the world’s oldest profession’ and yet very few places on Earth acknowledge these men and women’s rights. :/ The above posters don’t tick all the boxes, I agree, but they do make some effort to normalise and rehumanise those working in the sex industry; They’re people like anyone else and this is just how they live their lives. Whilst the above posters miss the mark on some levels it’s definitely a step in the right direction, IMHO.

Not sure how much sense that made. >.< On a massive caffeine high right now and my thoughts are hella scattered ATM. Sorry!
